Performance

Art has been a part of my life ever since a young age, when my mom put me in dance classes. From then on, I had a passion for performing and lit up whenever I would step onto a stage. I make art because I love to tell stories through movement in my body and my performance, because it is a creative outlet, rather than just telling a story with words. Past experiences, situations, moods, and feelings are all factors that inspire my art. I especially love performing about things/experiences that I can relate to personally, because it allows me to connect to the music and movement on an even deeper level. Dancing and performing is an escape for my mind, and whatever emotions or moods I am feeling. It’s like therapy; it is a way for me to let all those thoughts and feelings out when I don’t necessarily have the words to do so. It is important for my art to have a place in the world because I believe I have a story to tell. How I make art is unique to me because I truly create and move from my heart, and the allow the music to fuel my movement. I feel it’s different from similar types of art because everyone has a different creative mind/perspective, and different experiences to draw from. Art to me is being able to express feelings, emotions, or tell a story through various forms.
